Celeriac

Celeriac is a delicious and versatile vegetable, packed with nutrients, and is also known as knob celery. It is a variety of celery, similar in taste which grows to resemble the shape of a turnip or beet. Popular in many dishes, the plant grows natively in Europe and Asia. In recent years it has become a very popular ingredient and the centerpiece of many cuisines. The plant has been grown for thousands of years due to its medicinal properties. It contains antioxidants which help reduce inflammation, supports the cardiovascular system, and it is rich in fiber which is beneficial for the digestive system.

Celeriac can be a useful substitute for potatoes in some recipes. Celeriac can be pureéd, making it a great sauce and condiment. It can also be roasted or prepared as a soup like other similar vegetables. Celeriac can be eaten raw and is often incorporated into salad.
