Greetings from Fresh Start Farms!
Greetings from Fresh Start Farms! You have until 2pm tomorrow (Tuesday) to customize your box. If you have any questions at all, please reach out by replying to this email or giving us a call at 603-606-2663.
We are off to a great start to the 2021 season, thanks to all for joining us! With all this warm weather and some needed upcoming rain, greens galore is upon us and we couldn’t be happier.
Storage crops are the foundation of New England fare and what keeps so many bellies full as the snow coats the ground. A huge thanks to all the producers, like Picadilly Farm in Winchester, New Hampshire, who have meticulously cured and stored their potatoes, carrots, and squashes for months to ensure we all have access to locally grown foods year-round. It is not an easy task and we are grateful for their efforts.
The layout of our NEW Fresh Start Market is almost complete and we plan to invite you all for a safe, socially-distanced grand opening in early June in conjunction with NeighborWorks of Southern NH Wellness Weekend Block Party. We will keep you posted as more details emerge. Here’s a sneak peek at the new storefront and some new products!
It’s hard to believe this photo was taken only one year ago!

As the New Moon comes into sight, we say “Ramadan Mubarak” to all fo the Fresh Start farmers who practice Islam. Muslims mark the holy month by fasting – considered one of the five pillars of Islam – during the sunlight hours until the next crescent Moon, which should be in about a month. We hope it is a time of joy and for spending time with one’s family, and giving to charity and those in need. To celebrate we share with you a farmer favorite recipe for Aloo Samosas made with peas and potatoes. These hand pies are shallow fried in minutes for a crunchy, salty treat!
As always, please let us know if you have any questions, product requests, or ideas, we live off your feedback.
