Fresh Start Farms
We hope that the month of August is off to a good start for you! The cooler weather is very refreshing, especially for the Fresh Start Farmers who work tirelessly growing, maintaining, and harvesting so many vegetables! Did you know that the Fresh Start Umoja Farmers in Concord have a wholesale contract with the NH Food Bank to grow ethnic crops? Through the “NH Feeding NH” program, the Food Bank is purchasing culturally appropriate food grown by the Fresh Start Farmers to distribute to area food pantries and soup kitchens to provide more recognizable foods to families in the community.
Fresh bread from the Crust and Crumb will be available this week to add to your FarmShare! Flavors include: Whole Wheat, Tomato Herb, and Honey Oat! The Crust and Crumb sources as many local ingredients as possible to help strengthen our local food system, and was the first Certified Local bakery in New Hampshire! Did you know that they save their scraps and donate them to farmers to feed their pigs? Minimizing waste can be really sweet!

You can pick up your share either day. No need to notify us, just come on by! We will not hold missed pick-ups. We will donate any unclaimed shares to our local food pantries.
Merrimack Public Library
Thursdays 2pm to 4pm
470 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack

This is a great one-pot meal that utilizes all of those green beans in your FarmShare this week! Plus onions, garlic, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro or parsely at the end makes for a delicious, satisfying, simple dinner.
Mozzarella from Maplebrook Farm
This fresh mozzarella is perfect for your summer recipes: slice it along with fresh tomatoes topped with basil and a drizzle of balsamic and olive oil and you’ve got a fresh, local caprese salad! Dice it up and add it to a grain salad, or use it to make a home-made pizza! The options are endless.

Choose from bone-in chicken breasts, chicken thighs, or chicken drumsticks! Pasture-raised locally to ensure delicious, healthful products.
