Celebrate Autumn's Arrival

Saturday, September 23rd marked the start of fall with the autumnal equinox, when the length of the days and nights is roughly equal. This is a perfect time to take a moment to pause and observe: have you noticed lately, how the hues of the environment have shifted? The bright greens of summer have transformed into yellows and golds; the ground is studded with pine cones and sap from the trees; even the colors of the food harvested from the Fresh Start Farmers have changed! Mother nature provides all sorts of signals, if we can just take a moment to look and listen.  We wish you and your families a happy fall season and thank you for your continued support of Fresh Start Farms.

In other news, October 2nd will be the last week of the Mobile Market! Savi and April have done a wonderful job this season of providing fresh fruits and veggies to many folks in the Manchester- and Concord-areas that have very limited access to fresh food. We wish them luck in their last two weeks and if you haven’t been able to check it out yet, now’s your chance!

Join the Fall FarmShare

The Fall FarmShare starts immediately following the summer share, so you won’t miss a week of fresh, local food. Starting the week of October 9th and ending the week of Thanksgiving, this share is perfect for enjoying the end of season staples as well as storage crops and roasting vegetables that you can keep into the winter months.

We hope you’ll join us into the fall to enjoy more fresh, healthy, and local food with a mission!

Remove, and then prepare a super simple apple cider pan sauce with sweet apples and shallots. This is a quick, crowd-pleasing 35-minute dinner recipe you’ll want to make on repeat all autumn long!”
