Greetings from Fresh Start Farms! We hope you and your families are doing well and looking forward to the holidays. Speaking of holidays: we have reached our first of two opportunities during the WinterShare to order special Crust and Crumb holiday loaves. These loaves will be available for you to add in your Share this week (Dec. 12th) and the following week (Dec. 19th)–they freeze well so you can be prepared for those holiday gatherings!

Look forward to Honey Oat Bread, Butter Rolls, and Pulla Bread – a traditional Finnish cardamom bread that is light and fluffy and goes perfectly with a cup of coffee!

This week we are welcoming a new producer – Generation Farm – a small certified organic farm in Concord, NH! For the next 2 weeks, you can enjoy their organic microburst microgreens.  They are a beautiful mix of pea, sunflower & radish – nutty, sweet, with a hint of spice. Perfect for sandwiches, wraps, juicing, smoothies, garnishes, and salads. 

Another Greenhouse is finished!

It may be cold, but projects are still underway the farm. This week, Sylvain’s second greenhouse was finished on the Dunbarton site. It’s hard work getting plastic secured over a 96 foot frame! Everyone is happy to have it done.  

The farmers and NASAP team are focused on wrapping up the final projects on the farm before the snow falls and the season is officially over. Farm clean-up and securing greenhouse plastic are top of the list! 

'Tis the Season: Holiday Gift Boxes are Back!

Give the gift of local food for the holidays! We have eight different gift boxes to choose from this year, all with unique themes and varying prices. You can read the full descriptions and purchase them starting this week when you go to customize your Share in Harvie: look for the Gift Box products and select the one(s) that you’d like! It’s as simple as that! No need to stress about your gifts this season–we’ve got you covered.

You can pick up your share either day. No need to notify us, just come on by!

We will not hold missed pick-ups. We will donate any unclaimed shares to our local food pantries.

Not your typical pasta bake, you don’t need to boil the noodles, make a sauce, roast the winter squash or even saute the greens. All of the ingredients go raw in a big bowl and then into a springform pan! What emerges from eh oven is a savory fall decadence. Get the recipe here.
