We hope that January is off to a good start for you! A reminder that we will be closed on Monday to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day, so Monday FarmShares will be delivered on Tuesday, January 17th. Wednesday FarmShares will be delivered as scheduled on the 18th.
May this holiday serve as a reminder–and a demand– that we keep fighting for social, economic, and environmental justice in our country. One way we can do that is simply to learn more: Stanford University has created the Martin Luther King Jr. Research and Education Institute where you can go to read Dr. King’s works and learn more about his life and the movements he inspired. Or, check out the King Center to learn about their educational programs, which include trainings on the philosophy of non-violence.
Fresh Choice Manchester Update!
The five corner stores participating in the Fresh Choice Manchester Program have passed their 90-Day trial period and now have the freedom to tailor their own orders to suit the needs of their respective stores and customers. We are happy to report that over the past 90 days, $4,151.70 of fresh produce has been sold across all stores! We will be continuing to support these stores with technical assistance and deliveries as they continue past the 90 days, and we will also be looking to on-board five new stores in the upcoming year.
